2017 Filofax Setup

Ever since I made the jump into the planner world, I had my eye on this gorgeous chocolate brown leather beauty from Filofax.  The Malden leather is super soft, making it easy to chunk up, and the style is just sooo classic for me.  When I came across a personal sized one for sale pre-loved, I snatched it up immediately.  And it hasn't let me down since.  (Well, maybe in one aspect...but we will get into that later...)

So I'm currently using this for my more in-depth and household planning.  It doesn't leave the house unless I'm traveling somewhere for longer than a weekend, or if I know I'm going to be stuck somewhere waiting for several hours at a time.

I keep my pockets pretty simple- I just store my Post-It page flags, some extra paperclips, and a few sheets of stickers.  The emojis and the dew drops are from Michael's, and the puppy paw prints are from Hobby Lobby.

I made the dashboards throughout it with this gorgeous scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby.  I'm kinda obsessed with Rifle Paper Co style prints, so when I found this, I knew I had to have it.  I just clipped a little "I can do all things through Christ" quote to the top of the page, and added my initials to the bottom with some gold glitter letter stickers (also from Hobby Lobby).

On the inside page, I made a little "if found" pocket with my contact info inside.  I also have a little cleaning schedule that I kinda, sorta follow.  ;P

Then comes my calendar section...the meat and potatoes of this planner.  I DIY-ed a secretarial pocket using some leftover laminate and double stick tape to hold these stickers, and stuck this cute little boho magnetic clip from Michael's to the top.  I also clipped in a 2017 year at a glance calendar from I Try DIY.

The calendar inserts that I'm currently using came from Michael's.  I love them, but I'm debating making the switch to a more bullet journal style of planning for next year...but I don't know yet.  We will see what I decide to do come December.  :)

I follow up my calendar section with a zipper pouch filled with my most frequently used stickers.  These are either from Creative Stickers Co, or the Happy Planner pack.

And I absolutely cannot live without my Post-It notes!  I use them for to-do lists, short grocery lists, reminders, quotes...all kinds of good stuff.  I have them stuck to a piece of polka dot acetate from Hobby Lobby.

The next section is for lists.  I have another DIY-ed secretarial pocket with some cute makeup stickers that I never use because they're so stinkin' cute, an online order tracker that you can find in my printables section, and an assortment of different lists after that.  I have a list for birthdays, anniversaries, bills and due dates, our home renovation list, my current wishlist, and some blank graph paper for future lists.

My last section is probably the funnest, so naturally I had to start it off with a Minnie Mouse feltie clip from The Crafty Mail.  I printed out and glued in word searches, and also cut down and punched some adult coloring sheets.  It's just something fun for me to play with whenever I'm having down time.

After that, I have another sticker pouch, that holds some more Happy Planner stickers that I cut down.

The very back pocket has some more stickers from Creative Stickers Co, and a very special birthday card that my Mister gave me.  I keep my Papermate Inkjoy Gel Pen clipped to one of the pockets, and a Papermate Sharpwriter Mechanical Pencil in the pen loop, because that pen loop is just so ridiculously narrow.  None of my favorite planner pens fit in it, and it drives me nuts!  But fortunately, that's my only complaint with this planner, and I've learned to look past it.

If you would like to see a more in-depth flip through of my Filofax, you can watch the video that I recently uploaded to my Youtube channel:

Now, I do have a few other planners in my life...a pocket wide Foxy Fix, a personal size Recollections, an A5 size Recollections, and a passport size Traveler's Company notebook.  Eventually, I will get into how those are set up, so stay tuned!  :)
